The Acute Phase
The early stages of an injury is known as the acute phase. This phase consists of pain, swelling, redness and loss of function to the area. Immediately post-injury is when you should seek the help of a Physiotherapist. A physiotherapist will assist in controlling the inflammation of the joint and use techniques to reduce pain.
Physiotherapists provide a diagnosis to the injury, as well as the appropriate manual therapy needed. We will also recommend if a temporary mobility aid will be necessary.
Physiotherapists assess, treat, educate and manage all musculoskeletal injuries. We focus on hands-on treatment, exercise prescription and self-management techniques that are tailored to your needs. With an evidence-based approach, treatments used will maximize your return to work or sport or your chosen lifestyle activity.

Acute and Recovery Phase Physiotherapy: The Recovery Phase
The next stage of rehabilitation is the recovery phase. This is where treatment starts to become less hands on and more exercise and stretch focused. Gentle exercises to regain the range in movement, as well as restore joint mobility and strength to optimize function.
After your assessment an individualised program to suit your needs will be developed for you. We focus on the practical, achievable and functional exercises with a great emphasis on evidence-based principles.
If you are experiencing a recurrence of acute pain that has lasted longer than three months, have ongoing chronic pain that has not responded to previous traditional treatment or are diagnosed with a chronic health condition, book an appointment with our experienced team of Physiotherapists.

If you are a shorter person, a tall back rest is not advisable
Size of seat:
For a shorter person, a smaller seat is advisible as it will allow you to sit back all the way into the chair
Thickness of seat cushion
Cheaper chairs normally have a thin cushion
Which means your bottom will start to feel uncomfortable, even painful after a few hours of sitting
Here are some Physiotherapy workplace tips to help you keep you fit and healthy at work:
When you take a break—take a proper one! Don’t surf the web or start using your phone or eat food while taking a break at your workstation
Every couple of hours get up, take a short walk and stretch your legs.
Take periodic ‘mini-breaks’ at your desk every twenty minutes or so – do some stretches to loosen your shoulder and neck muscles and shift position.
If you work in an open plan office and need to speak to one of your colleagues, get up and walk over to their desk
Watch your posture:
Sit close to your work station
Keep the keyboard at a level that doesn’t require much reaching and isn’t too high or too low
Keep your monitor at eye level
Sit with your legs flexed at 90-degree angle with your feet resting comfortably
Physiotherapists can give you advice on:
Lifting
Workstation setup
Manual handling
Keep fit for work advice

How Workers Compensation Physiotherapy Can Help You
Workers Compensation Physiotherapy will help you get back to work. Your GP, Physiotherapist and any other health professional will work together as a team to assist you back into work. We will provide guidance and rehabilitation services to provide you with the best possible treatment.
What Is Workers Compensation Physiotherapy?
It’s the same as any other Physiotherapy service, but covered by Workers Compensation. Physiotherapy involves treatment for a work-related injury that occurred at work. It aims to assist your recovery in returning to work so that you are able to perform all work duties pain-free at full functional capacity.
What Does Workers Compensation Physiotherapy Cover?
To claim under workers compensation, your injury must have occurred due to your work. Workers compensation physiotherapy involves getting you back to work as quickly as possible. You may need to have time off work, or be performing modified duties as your injury heals. For example, if your job is very physical and labour intensive, you may have to cease all manual work for a while and only perform light admin duties. During the acute stages of your injury, Physiotherapy will involve pain relief methods such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, TENS and heat packs. Your Physiotherapist will work with you to assist you with your injury. Once your injury is stable we will progress you to exercises which may include range of motion, strength, endurance, and balance exercises. This is done so you are able to perform all the tasks you are required to do at work.
What Information Do I Need To Provide Before My Appointment?
Before your first appointment with us, you will need to see your GP who will organise your workers compensation paperwork. You will need to provide us with your claim number. You can also call us to discuss your situation and we can guide you through the process. Once you have the claim number, we can organise the other paper work after your first session.

Physiotherapy Professionals Parramatta 12 Ada Street Harris Park NSW 2150: Seeking Treatment After a Car AccidentCar Accident Physiotherapy Parramatta
Early intervention following a car accident promotes recovery from injuries. Initial treatments are meant to relieve pain and prevent aggravating injuries and do not directly address and treat damaged soft tissues and other underlying problems.
No matter how minor the injury may seem, seek medical treatment as soon as possible. Generally, injuries can have a different impact on each body part. The type of therapy needed and period of recovery may depend on the affected body part and the severity of the injury. Through proper diagnosis and personalised treatment, you can live a pain-free life and regain mobility.
Seeking immediate medical attention is also essential in avoiding long-term health-related consequences. Getting a professional health evaluation helps identify injuries you are not aware of, which may likely get serious without treatment.
