Physiotherapy Professionals Parramatta 12 Ada Street Harris Park NSW 2150: Find The Best Physio Near You

Find The Best Physio Near You

Finding the Best Physio near you can be a tough process given the high number of professionals in any given area. So what do you do and how do you choose someone who will look after you?  You need to find someone that knows how to guide you out of pain and back to feeling great again. Someone who understands what you are going through and someone who you can trust. You may not find them in the first session, but you will find them! So, how do you even start looking for the best Physio near you?

Here are my top 5 simple ways to help you find the best Physio near you:

  1. Ask your family or friends

  2. Keep it local

  3. Search them on google

  4. Ask The Clinic or the Physio questions

1. Ask your family or friends

If someone in your family or your friend circle regularly uses Physiotherapy services, why not get an introduction from them? Ask them to introduce you to your Physiotherapist via email or let them know who sent them to their clinic. Physio’s love hearing that someone they looked after has sent them their friend or family member to be looked after. Not only will you get better treatment, it will also put you up on the waiting list so you can be seen sooner. Word of Mouth is so powerful tool. People simply do not give recommendations if they have had a poor experience. Trust needs to be earned, a relationship needs to be established, and the person who is telling you about the Physio Clinic needs to have first hand experience.

2. Keep it local

So you’ve managed to find a Physio clinic through your friend who can’t stop raving about them. You’ve managed to find a time in your busy schedule two weeks down the track because you work on the other side of town and your schedule just wasn’t matching with the Physio’s schedule.

It’s Thursday night and it’s peak hour traffic. Oh no, you’re going to have to call and cancel your appointment. Even worse trying to reschedule your appointment which took you two weeks to book in the first place. You may even get charged a cancellation fee.

If you can’t get to a Physio clinic conveniently, it’s probably not the right clinic for you to start off with. Physiotherapy treatment is a working relationship between you and your therapist. You both need to work towards an outcome which often means you need to do homework. If you can’t keep up with your appointments, you probably are not going to get better.

Finding the right Physio clinic can be an issue when you have recommendations for a clinic that may be a 40+ minute drive away in Sydney traffic. Not only will this leave you frustrated with only half the results, but this also leaves your Physio frustrated and finding it hard to get the results they know they can help you achieve.

3. Search for a Physio on google or google maps

Google will show you unlimited information on any topic you can think off. Google maps however will show you more specific information. You can find a clinic close to you, you can also check out other people’s reviews. You can even contact the clinic quickly. Don’t judge a clinic by its first few reviews. 5 stars are great, however, 3 and 4 star reviews actually give you better information. They give you honest feedback about what they experienced.Look for the reviews that outline exactly what they experienced, the good and the not so good and does it align with your values?

4. Ask the clinic or the Physio some questions

Granted the Physio will not be able to get to you straight away as Physio’s often have busy case loads, reports to write and case conferences to attend. Rather than just booking an appointment online (You can do that if you are satisfied with your research so far), reach out to the practice, speak to the person who answers the phone and talk to them about your issue. Admin staff may not be able to answer your clinical question, but speak with a Physiotherapist or even better, email them. I love responding to email injuries from prospective patients.

What Questions can you ask the clinic?

Although most of this information can be found on a good clinic’s website:

  1. What is involved with the initial consult? Lots, so be prepared 🙂

  2. Will I get treatment on the first session? Yes you will.

  3. How long does the Initial consult go for? ~40-45 minutes

  4. Do they have experience treating … insert problem here… Mention as much information as you feel comfortable to the reception team this helps them guide you to the best Physio suited to your problem.

  5. What is the cost and can I claim Private Health in the clinic (Physio cover) – this helps you determine what gap you have to pay.

  6. Mention if you have a preference of a male or female therapist too?
